Since 1986, Lutheran Social Ministries of Mississippi (LSMM) has worked to create a support system of local people and agencies. In becoming advocates for Mississippi, LSMM discovered many poverty-stricken areas such as the Mississippi Delta. LSMM is working to restore dignity and family relationships.

Who we are
LSMM is an association of Christians reaching out to those in need in our home state, especially in the poverty-stricken Mississippi Delta. LSMM has discovered homes ravaged by winds, rains, and disrepair; and families displaced by age or circumstance. Lutherans are reaching out in Christian charity to help them face and solve their problems and to empower congregations to assist them. Their goals are being realized in the eager faces of youngsters on enrichment outings, toddlers hearing the voices of absent mothers, the laughter of adopted children, and the smiles of elderly residents in renovated homes.
