Feb 5-11, 2012 This Friday evening there is a "meet and greet" the pastor candidate at 7:00pm in the Parish Hall. Coffee and dessert will be served. Plese bring a dessert to share. Thank you for your dedication to this ministry in our church. Sunday, as part of our worship, we will have the annual "Souper Bowl of Caring." Please place canned and boxed food items for the local food pantries on the table provided. A cash contribution will be taken in the kettles that the youth will have in the Narthex following each worship. The cash will be divided equally between Lutheran World Hunger and the local food pantries. There is a Congregation Meeting for Christus Victor to call a new pastor on February 12, 2012 following the 10:30am worship. We will have one worship service at 10:30am with Sunday school at 9:15am. Please make a note of this. In order to vote at this meeting, you must have communed at least once this past year and made a contribution of note. A memorial service for Corey Barnhill, son of Rodney and Kerry Nichols will be held on Sunday, February 12, at 2:30pm at Christus Victor. Please be in prayer for this family. The February Newsletter is now in the Narthex on the information table for those who do not have email. Go by and pick up your copy. The 2012 Offering envelopes can now be picked up in the Narthex. They are in alphabetical order by last name. If you do not have a box with your name on it, please fill out a yellow worship card and we will have a box for you by next Sunday. On Monday, February 6, the Quilting Circle will meet from 9am till 3:00pm. They are working on quilts for the Lutheran World Relief and can use your help. Please come and join this group as your schedule permits. It is a great time of fellowship as we help others. Choir practice is now on Tuesday at 6:15pm. If you love to sing and want to be part of this worship experience, please join us. WELCA meets on Wednesday, February 8, at 10:00am in the Conference Room. Everyone is welcome. This week Mutual Ministry recognizes and thanks all those who minister by serving on the Stewardship Team. WELCA is sponsoring a "Valentine Chocolate Sale" from now till February 5. You can still order your chocolate on Sunday. Each bite of Divine Chocolate is just that-divine! By ordering your Valentine candy through us you will be aiding the cocoa farmers in remote areas of the world that live on a very low income, Lutheran World Relief, and raise money for the church's budget. You can place your order in the Narthex. Lynda Richmond is taking informal photos of CVLC members in order to compile a new pictorial directory. Photos will be taken on most Sundays. You will also be asked to verify your contact information. Please indicate how you would prefer your name to appear in the directory. The Preschool is asking for old newspapers for a craft project and clean Mardi Gras beads. Just bring them by the church office. Thank you.
